Teaser Tuesday #1 (April 14): Cinder by Marissa Meyer

Hi! This is my first Teaser Tuesday post (Hosted by MizB @ A Daily Rhythm), so I hope you enjoy!

What to do:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
Be careful not to include spoilers (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other Teaser Tuesdays participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I was thinking I’d be doing teasers from Tiger’s Destiny by Colleen Houck or Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick, but I ended up finishing both earlier than planned. So I’m currently reading two books: The Daughters Break the Rules by Joanna Philbin and Cinder by Marissa Meyer (re-reading). Instead of doing two teasers from one book, I’ve decided to do 1 teaser for just one of the books I’m reading.

Teaser:

Cinder_bookcover‘ “She thinks I’m weak,” Kai said. “She’s going to try and persuade me to accept the marriage alliance now, while everything’s in chaos.” He kicked the wall, biting back a cry of pain when he remembered he wasn’t wearing shoes. “Can’t we tell her no? Tell her she’s not welcome here?”

“I’m not sure that would be the indications of peace your father had been striving for.”

“She’s the one who’s been threatening war for the last twelve years!”

Torin pursed his lips, and the haunting worry in his gaze quelled Kai’s anger. “Discussions must go two ways, Your Highness. We will listen to her requests, but she must listen to ours as well.” ‘

-Kai to Torin, Cinder by Marissa Meyer

Hope you enjoyed this week’s Teaser Tuesdays! For more Tuesday fun, check out this week’s Top 10 Tuesday! 😉

Keep eating!

Top 10 Tuesday #2 (April 14) : Top Ten Inspiring Quotes from Books

Hi again! Today’s Top Ten Tuesday (a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish) theme (provided by The Broke and The Bookish) is Top Ten Inspiring Quotes from Books (anything that inspires you, challenges you, makes you think, encourages you, etc.). I’ll try to have quotes from different books (of the YA genre mostly). Let’s get started!

In no particular order:

1. “No one can hate you with more intensity than someone who used to love you.”

HyllaThe Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan

This is a very meaningful quote, in my opinion. It’s a very insightful statement that applies in many situations in books, but also real life. I see or read about different circumstances in which the reason a person was doing something was because of a love-now-hate reason.Read More »
