26 YA Books Releasing in March 2018 You Need on Your TBR (because I said so)!

So it’s well-known, that publishers love to smother us with new books!!

Which is great! But also, it is supremely difficult to keep up with all of them, or the ones we’re most interested in, so basically I’m taking the opportunity to make sure I don’t forget these books because my memory is horrible!! (And oh yes, I’m also sneakily plotting to make sure your TBRs grow taller but you didn’t hear that from me.)

Also featuring me crying joyfully over diversity, beautiful covers and my empty wallet!! Let’s go!

March 6th

Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi: THE HYPE. THE HYYYYYYYYPEEEE! A West-African inspired fantasy! Diverse!! Um, hi, it’s mine, thanks!!!

Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi: Shatter Me!!!! More Juliette and Warner and Kenji and all the amazing things!!!! (I’M NOT SCREAMING, YOU ARE)

The Beauty That Remains by Ashley Woodfolk: Grief and music and diversity!! *grabby hands*

More Than We Can Tell by Brigid Kemmerer: I ADORED Letters to the Lost, and this book is from the POV of Rex, who I was so intrigued with in LTTL. So sign me up!!

To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo: This sounds SO GOOD omg. I believe there are sirens and more specifically, a disgraced siren who needs to kill the prince to be made a siren again??! I SENSE MURDER INTRIGUE!

Hero at the Fall by Alwyn Hamilton: I loved Rebel of the Sands, but I’ve been uninterested in reading the second book and I’m kiiiind of indifferent to the third’s book release. BUT THE SERIES STARTED OFF GOOD.

The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw: Three sisters who were drowned for witchery steal the bodies of human girls every year to lure boys and drown them for revenge – HOLY CRAP. Sign me up! (I swear I’m normal)

In Search Of Us by Ava Dellaira: “A parallel story of a mother and daughter, each at age 17” The main character is biracial,

The Case For Jamie by Brittany Cavallero: I haven’t read any of the Charlotte Holmes books, but I’ve had them on my TBR for so long! Oops.

Blood Water Paint by Joy McCullough: To be honest I’m not a fan of historical fiction? Too much sexism and old-fashioned

The Unbinding of Mary Reade by Miriam McNamara: Sooooo I don’t actually see ton of good reviews for this?? BUT PIRATESSSSSSS.

Pacifica by Kristen Simmons: MORE PIRATES. Did I miss something about March??? There are so many sea-themed/pirating books going on?? I MEAN I’M NOT COMPLAINING. But why now???

March 13th

Obsidio by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff: Oops, looks like I have to actually read Illuminae and Gemina now… *hides*

The Radical Element edited by Jessica Spotswood: I’m not actually a super huge fan of short stories, but there are so many amazing authors involved in this!! Anna-Marie McLemore, Marieke Nijkamp, Mackenzi Lee, Dhonielle Clayton…!!!

In Sight of Stars by Gae Polisner: This goes back and forth in terms of timelines and explores the story of Klee, who gets committed and the time before and after and during and such (I think??) and I’ve seen a lot of good reviews on this!!

Time Bomb by Joelle Charbonneau: Set during a school bombing and I…. </3 Heartbreak all over.

March 20th

The Astonishing Color of After by Emily X.R. Pan: Ft. a biracial (half Asian, half white) protagonist tackling grief and her mother’s suicide </3 This book already sounds so beautiful and heartbreaking from its synopsis!!

Tyler Johnson Was Here by Jay Coles: If this book isn’t on your TBR: WHAT ARE YOU DOING. I already can tell what an amazing this book will be, among the likes of The Hate U Give , and Dear Martin. Publishing, writers; YOU’RE DOING AMAZING, SWEETIE.

The Heart Forger by Rin Chupeco: Aaah I’ve been meaning to read The Bone Witch for so long! But I… didn’t. Oops.

Miles Away From You by A.B. Rutledge: The synopsis made this book sound so good!! But I also just looked through some reviews aaaand it doesn’t seem as great as it sounds but some people loved it? So.

Tiger’s Dream by Colleen Houck: I’m actually not interested in this book or series anymore haha, but I had to include this for nostalgia’s sake! I had no idea there was a fifth book being published in this series?! I don’t think I’m reading this, but omg, this brings back memories. 😂

March 27th

Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Choksi: This isn’t YA, but I am so so happy to see a middle grade fantasy book being published with an Indian main character and exploring India’s mythology from an #ownvoices author!! I’M SO HAPPY.

Lost Crow Conspiracy by Rosalyn Eves: Oops another sequel where I haven’t read the first book!! (Am I the only one who hears “crow” and immediately wants to go back to the Dregs, MY LOVES)

And She Was by Jessica Verdi: Dara, the main character, discovers her mother is actually transgender and goes on a road trip with her best guy friend!

In Her Skin by Kim Savage: Oh my gosh, this reminds me so much of Here Lies Daniel Tate by Cristin Terrill! I loved that book so much, and this one follows the same sort of missing-person-impersonation plot and so I’m actually super excited for this one.

The Queens of Innis Lear by Tessa Gratton: Okay, this sounds SO COOL. I’m raising a skeptic brow at the words “starblessed Ella” to describe one of the king’s daughters, because um hi special snowflake, but that’s okay!! It has “a family drenched in blood” and that’s all I need, tbh.

(Yes, this is the same person who loves cute romances. FIGHT ME.)

What books are you anticipating the most this upcoming month??! March 6th is ABSOLUTELY INSANE and I love-hate it because I want them so muchhhhh but um I would need a miracle to afford them all?? (Also am I the only one who hasn’t read Illuminae or Gemina yet?? *nervous laughter* *prepares to run*)

March is ACTUALLY AMAZING okay!! I’m so pumped! (Even though I’m probably not gonna have time to read half these books!!)

SHOUT BOOKS WITH ME.

2017 September Book Releases // LOOK AT ALL THE BOOKS *dies*

It’s almost September!! (HOW?)

I’m not sure how I feel about this fact?

I’m SO EXCITED because there are so many anticipated books this month (*cough They Both Die at the End* *cough Warcross*) and also WONDER WOMAN has finally released (!!!!!!) but also DISGRUNTLED because summer is over and I shall be robbed of any semblance of a life. *cries*

But before that, I’ll be robbed of my money, of course! Shh I’m not handing it over willingly, what are you talking about? I am SO excited for this month’s releases!

Oh, and yes, you can prepare for your TBRs to grow larger! *cackles* Let’s gooooo destroy your conquering-TBR goal and admire the pretty covers!

September 5th

They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera: AHHHHH pff no biggie, it’s only one of my most anticipated books of the year???!?!? Adam Silvera has shot to being one of my most favourite authors and his books are just so hEaRtBrEaKiNg and I love them!!! ❤

I AM READY. (Narrator: She was not ready.)

If There’s No Tomorrow by Jennifer L. Armentrout: Main character has everything planned out for senior year and is super pumped until -GASP- something horrible happens!! Now nothing’s the same!! It never is.

(Do I become more salty at the end of the month or what?) As cliche as I made it sound, I really am looking forward to this one!!

Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff (Nevernight #2): Have I read Nevernight? NOPE. #oops *goes to Goodreads* *reads word “assassin”* *rushes off to find Nevernight from the depths of my physical TBR*

I swear I’ve been meaning to read this one!! There’s so much hype surrounding the first book! I hope the sequel proves to be just as good?

Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust: This one’s a retelling pitched as Frozen meets The Bloody Chamber! Talk about an interesting pairing?? (I mean, I suppose Elsa can be super intense and all… but wait what about Olaf??? THE BLOODY CHAMBER. Yikes. But also *grabby hands* Sorry, Olaf.)

Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas (Throne of Glass #6): Okay, so I haven’t read the 5th book, Empire of Storms?? Apparently this is Chaol’s book, and it sounds good!! (I’m lowkey grumbling though because this series is taking so long to be completed and my brain can’t remember what I ate for dinner last night, let alone the content of the past books I read a year ago??? #halp)

A Semi-Definitive List of Worst Nightmares by Krystal Sutherland: I’ve only read a few reviews on this one, but from what I’ve read this book is AMAZING and I absolutely can’t wait to read it!! This girl has a bunch of fears because her family is ‘cursed’ (at least I think that’s it???) and then she tries to overcome those and yeah.

…Okay I swear the book is probably more interesting that I make it sound!!

Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart: I haven’t read any of E. Lockhart’s books (such as the uber-hyped We Were Liars) yet but I’ve heard some good things about this one!! What’s with all the blond hair tho???

The Thing with Feathers by McCall Hoyle: The thing with feathers is that they’re FLUFFY and soft and can be found on birds or at Dollarama I was going to write off this book as simply being a book with pretty font and feathers, but I’ve never read a book with a main character with epilepsy, like this one and I’m hoping it’s good??!

Right Where You Left Me by Calla Devlin: Family drama! Missing journalist father?? FBI and earthquakes? I think?? (I’M TRYING HERE, OKAY.)

Light Years by Emily Ziff Griffin: This girl has this super rare condition and also has this SUPER PLAN to ‘start her life’ and be ‘free from her mother’!!

BUT.

Then there’s a deadly virus and her father is quarantined! *GASP* But when the girl (Luisa) gets a CRYPTIC message from a stranger who can stop the virus, she knows she has to something to save her family (and the world, obvi). Go Lu!! Wouldn’t it be the job of the stranger to do that tho??

Even the Darkest Stars by Heather Fawcett: I feel like so many of the blurbs these days are all SO SIMILAR. Especially with how they end?? But they sound GOOD, so I guess that’s why? xD I’m getting some bonding sister vibes, but also sister competition! And climbing a mountain or something? All the good stuff.

Black Bird of the Gallows by Meg Kassel: I’m going to be real here, I desperately needed another book to complete this gallery and so I found this one but this doesn’t seem like one I’m going to pick up? It seems quite cliche with the whole falling in love with a “inhuman, tall, brooding ‘harbringer of death'” thing going on.

September 7th

Moonrise by Sarah Crossan: Okay, the blurb I saw on GR was totally not a blurb and I have ZERO CLUE what this is about but I liked her other book, One, so I’m giving this the On-the-tbr-but-idk-when-I-will-read-it-possibly-never treatment!!

A Jigsaw of Fire and Stars by Yaba Badoe: 4 words: MAGICAL. REALISM. + Pretty cover!!

The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James: Can you fall in love with someone you’ve never met, never even spoken to – someone who is light years away? UM NO. But okay, book, go ahead and delude yourself!!

I swear I’m not this cynical in real life.

I think.

September 12th

Warcross by Marie Lu: ANOTHER MOST ANTICIPATED AHHHHH!!! From what I understand with my tiny brain, this is like a virtual reality world?? Or at least there are video game vibes? And everyone seems to be loving it AND IT’S MARIE LU I mean come on.

September 12th whyyyyyyyy :'(((( *cries* *grabby hands*

Before She Ignites by Jodi Meadows (Fallen Isles Trilogy #1): Mira originally came accross as a special snowflake (so over those) BUT THEN. She has anxiety?? And there seems to be dragons??? GIVE ME NOW.

Fireblood by Elly Blake (Frostblood Saga #2): I haven’t read the first book but apparently these books are super good!! Plus there’s blood and blood is good hahahaha I’m okay guys I swear. (*everyone runs away from me*)

You Bring the Distant Near by Mitali Perkins: I don’t know how I could do that, BUT THANKS PAL. I’m glad you think so.

No, but in all seriousness (ew, serious) this book is #ownvoices with an Indian-American MC!! Explores “sisterhood, first loves, friendship, and inheritance of culture” YOU GUYS. I need this in my lifeeeee!

September 19th

A Poison Dark and Drowning by Jessica Cluess (Kingdom on Fire #2): POISON YAY. That always makes things interesting. (I swear I’m a very harmless person!!) Haven’t read the first book (as seems to be a trend in this post) but this series sounds so good!! And I kind of love the covers. So.

One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake (Three Dark Crowns #2): Guess what I’m about to say… Yup, I haven’t read the first book of this series either!! BUT I’M ALL FOR DARKNESS. And bloodthirsty royals.

Moxie by Jennifer Mathieu: Am I the only one who thinks of Moxie’s Grill & Bar?? I’ve never even had food there but oh well. I JUST LIKE FOOD and this reminds me of food?? But okay, this book actually sounds SO GOOD! MC (Moxie’s Grill) starts a feminist revolution at her high school??! Sign me upppp.

Jane, Unlimited by Kristin Cashore: Kristin Cashore!! Am I the only one who read and really liked her Graceling books?? This one’s a totally different vibe, more a coming-of-age contemporary story than fantasy, but I can’t wait!!

September 26th

The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo: LEIGH BARDUGOOOOOO!! I’m still fawning over the fact that Wonder Woman has finally released AND THEN BAM.

Another book, and it’s set in the Grishaverse!! #blessed (Hi here’s your daily reminder to read Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom even if this book isn’t related to those books directly)

Invictus by Ryan Graudin: Time-traveling!!! I feel like a lot of time-traveling books follow the same formula (ppl go back in time + screw things up = ultimate death unless they find a miracle to fix things)

BUT this is RYAN GRAUDIN!! I love, love, LOVED, her previous books (Wolf by Wolf duology – reimagining of Hitler-era with shape-shifting, and The Walled City which was inspired off true events) and I knowwwww* I will love this!!

*Okay, fine, strongly hope? I’m a cynical melon, remember?

Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman: Another character with a “mother-that-makes-her-feel-unremarkabke”!! (So much hate against mothers, jeez.) Who is certain that once she escapes into her dream school Everything Will Be Better. BUT GASP. She doesn’t make it into said art school!! And then some other things happen. :)))

Seriously, I swear these books are a TON better than how I make them sound!! EDIT: Also there’s Asian rep in this one!! #yesplease

Someone needs to stop me from making these posts.

Is September packed with incredible reads or what??? (I’m telling you, don’t listen to my cheesy generic descriptions of the books. xD) All of the good books are ruining my “I dislike September because of school” aesthetic though #help What books are you most excited for?? (WARCROSS, TBDATE, Language of Thorns, mm yes good choices.) Have I grown your TBR? (Mwa hahaha)  Will you give me your money so I can buy all these books?

GIVE ME YOUR COMMENTS TO SNACK* ON. :))) Sending lots of love and I hope you’re having a beautiful time wherever your are!! ❤

*See what I did there? Snack… Book Snacks?? *waggles eyebrows* Okay I’ll stop

Guess who’s going broke once again this month??

(Hint: it’s meeeeeeee.)

It’s that time of year again, and I’m actually super excited for the end of the month for once, because my classes have FINALLY ENDED. *cue cheers* 4-month summer, yessssss! I am taking summer courses though (ughhh) so that will still take up my time, but STILL. SUMMER.

Anyway, the end of a month bringing the start of a new one, and with that brings NEW BOOKS. *squeals* and also *cries because this human read only 5 books this month and can’t keep up* SO MANY BOOKS I can’t wait to read omg. Let’s just get right into the books so I don’t go onto a 500-word intro.

May 2

Avenged by Amy Tintera (Ruined #2): I ADORED RUINED SO MUCH. I need to return to my preciousssss children!! ❤

A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas (ACOTAR #3): PREPARE TO HAVE YOUR HEART STOMPED ON. It’s releasing in like 2 days?!! (But sidenote I’ve heard it has some really problematic things in it and now I’m scared and sad…)

The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan (The Trials of Apollo #2): I really liked the first book! I don’t remember it very much (nothing new, hi, I’m a goldfish.) but yayyy for another Riordan book!

Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before #3): I would like to be overwhelmed with all the adorable feels, YES PLEASE.

How to Make a Wish by Ashley Herring Blake: I’ve seen this around but I can’t remember what it’s about but WISHES. It’s probably some symbolic meaning for something but whatever. It sounds really good!

Noteworthy by Riley Redgate: Heard so much about this one, apparently it has DIVERSITY and it’s about singing which I am an expert on, obviously. So this is my book. I am so not an expert but shhhhh. I’m trying to sound convincing.

Girl Out of Water by Laura Silverman: Cute contemporary which also had diversity rep like a black love interest with a disability and lesbian friends.

Cold Summer by Gwen Cole: I can’t get over how pretttttttttttttttttty the cover is omg.

Dreamfall by Amy Plum (Dreamfall #1): I haven’t read anything by Amy Plum, but I know many people who’ve loved her books!

May 4

Release by Patrick Ness: Two words for you; Patrick. Ness. (!!!)

The Seafarer’s Kiss by Julia Ember: The Little Mermaid retelling!! (Mermaidsssssss. I haven’t read a book with mermaids in a very very long time. Disgrace.) And also lots of diversity, f/f romance,

Spellslinger by Sebastien de Castell (Spellslinger #1): It’s a cool cover!! And I like the author’s name haha.

The Fallen Children by David Owen: Firstly children fall down all the time I mean they might have a few bruises but otherwise nothing special???  I have zero idea what this is about, so. Um.

May 9

Ramona Blue by Julie Murphy: I really liked Dumplin’ when I read it last year, so I’m interested in seeing how this one turns out!

It’s Not Like It’s a Secret by Misa Sugiura: I’ve read some really great reviews on this one and it’s a diverse read featuring a gay Japanese-American protag. It may also be #ownvoices, but I’m not sure. But it sounds amazing!

It Started With Goodbye by Christina June: Another cute contemporary! (I’m pretty sure, anyway.)

Dear Reader by Mary O’Connell: Gilmore Girls with magical realism?? YES PLEASE.

Someone Else’s Summer by Rachel Bateman: How many times can I say cute contemporary without sounding repetitive? I wish I could say something else but I mean… either way, it sounds like a fun story!

That Thing We Call a Heart by Sheba Karim: Friendship! Diversity! Pakistani-American protagonist + Muslim American characters! And exploration of love, identity and relationships. SO EXCITED OMG.

May 16

Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh: OH LOOK IT’S RENEE AHDIEH, pff, she’s only like one of my favourite authors of ever?? This is a retelling of Mulan with Japanese mythology and omg I CAN’T. I NEED THIS. ❤

The Crown’s Fate by Evelyn Skye (The Crown’s Game #2): It’s almost hereeeee YAY. I loved the first book and needed this, like last year??! Apparently it’s really good so I am super excitedddddd.

The Love Interest by Cale Dietrich: A story about a love triangle that I’m actually… looking forward to?? And many other people too??? *cue shock* This book actually seems like it could put an interesting twist on the trope and be interesting and I WANT.

The Names They Gave Us by Emery Lord: I finished her other novel, When We Collided, a while back and liked it well enough so I’m curious to see how this book is!!

Seeker by Veronica Rossi (Riders #2): I’ve had the first book on my TBR for a while but never got around to it! I hope whoever is following this series likes this one though.

Grit by Gillian French: Zero clue what it’s about, but it looks good! I’m so shallow when it comes to books, I know…

May 23

Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare (The Dark Artifices #2): I’ve waited enouuuuuuugh!! I really can’t wait for this omgggg why is it still so far away?

The Gauntlet by Megan Shepherd (The Cage #3): I liked the look of the series but haven’t gotten around to it.

In a Perfect World by Trish Doller: I’d have all the time in the world to read books and also have a ton of money to buy said books. But it’s not a perfect world and so now I’m sad?? But I digress. This sounds interesting!

May 30

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon: Diversity and a story about two Indian-American teens and arranged marriage!! It sounds utterly adorable and I CAN’T WAIT.

Dark Breaks the Dawn by Sara B. Larson: PRETTY COVER! No idea what it’s about. But looooook at the cover! #helpful

Eliza and her Monsters by Francesca Zappia: I adored her previous book, Made You Up [review here] and I am suuuuuuper excited for this one!

I Believe in a Thing Called Love by Maurene Goo: Diversity!! Korean main character and a super cute contemporary romance. Happy Analee!

Romancing the Throne by Nadine Jolie Courtney: This sounds like fun! So much adorableness is written on this cover!

Spectacle by Rachel Vincent (Menagerie #2): I don’t know much of what this is about but it has a character named Delilah and now I kind of want to know more.. (Yes I’m that obsessed with ADSOM. Hushhhh. Yes I know they’re not the same characters…)

What books are you looking forward to this month??! THERE ARE SO MANY I KNOW mwa ha ha you must choose. Also look at me, keeping this post at under 1200 words! (it’s at 1152.) *Gives self a cookie* This day should be documented. (Seeing how my last post was like, 2000+ words oops. Is this a normal thing, or…?)

I hope you guys are all having a super amazing day!

Basically a whole bunch of contemporary! // 2017 April Book Releases

It’s no longer April Fool’s, but funny-not-funny story for yesterday: I woke up to my sister screaming and acting like there was a spider on my bed. AGH. #sisterproblems

Hello everyone and happy second day of April! I hope your first couple of days of April have been off to a good start! I haven’t posted for the past few days though, sorry about that! I’ve been so busy and just haven’t gotten a chance to blog hop, read, or write a post at all. WHY DOES TIME HATE ME. A struggle that goes on forever. I know I don’t really have to apologize, but nonetheless.

It so does not feel like April though?? I will never understand this whole time and month thing, honestly. It feels so short. But, it is (apparently) April, which means it’s time for new books being released!! I had not had much time at all to read last month, like at all (I finished 3 books?? Which is not terrible but not at all my usual number… I hardly read any books.) BUT. I am of course an addict for new books and I am loving the titles being released this month!

April 1st

All the Forever Things by Jolene Perry: I don’t know about this one, actually?? It sounds and looks super cute but I’ve briefly skimmed some reviews and it doesn’t seem to be something I think I’d enjoy. But, nonetheless, willing to keep an open mind!

The Secret Science of Magic by Melissa Keil: The main character in this one is a genius! And has social anxiety! (? correct me if I’m wrong, someone!) And that’s all I know about it! But it sounds amazing and I’ve seen people rave about it, so count me in.

April 4th

Definitions of Indefinable Things by Whitney Taylor: Seemingly a cute contemporary! It sounds like a really fun read.

The Last Thing You Said by Sara Biren: Another contemporary! April is really bringing on the cute contemporary reads–not that I mind! Contemporary is one of my favourite genres, next to fantasy. Bring on the cute reads!

Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett: Ummmmm. No idea what it’s about. Oh well. It’s a contemporary? Sorry, I am no help with this description thing…

Gem & Dixie by Sara Zarr: Another contemporary! I have no idea what it’s about (I AM A GOLDFISH, OKAY.) but it looks cute!

Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer: I believe this is a contemporary?? THE COVER IS SO PRETTY. I’m in love.

But Then I Came Back by Estelle Laure: Coma patients! Friendship (??) and another contemporary! This one sounds pretty interesting, actually.

Toward a Secret Sky by Heather Maclean: Uhhh… Do I know what this book is about??? Nope. But the cover is pretty??

Defy the Stars by Claudia Gray: A sci-fi novel! I liked the author’s previous works well enough, so I’m interested in seeing how this one turns out.

Shadowcaster by Cinda Williams Chima (Shattered Realms #2): I haven’t read any of this series or any of the author’s books, but I really want to!! I’ve heard her fantasy books are really amazing, and I can’t wait.

Perfect by Cecelia Ahern (Flawed #2): This is the sequel to the first book, that released last year (Flawed) and I haven’t read that one either, but for those who have, I hope you enjoy this one!

April 6th

The State of Grace by Rachael Lucas: I believe this book deals with a character with autism?? I can’t comment on the rep or the content at all, obviously, but I heard it was good and I’m hoping that’s true?

April 11th

The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli: IT’S ALMOST HERE!!! Becky Albertallu aka creator of my best friend Simon is releasing a NEW BOOK. *flails* *dies*

Spindle Fire by Lexa Hillyer: Retelling galore!! You guys probably know how much I love retellings *cough* Beauty and the Beast phase *cough* so I’m super excited for this one.

Blacksouls by Nicole Castroman: PIRATES AND PIRATING! YAY. I really enjoyed the first book, Blackhearts, and I need this one asap?? Plz and thanks.

Alex and Eliza: A Love Story by Melissa de la Cruz: I’ve recently gotten into Hamilton??? SO PERFECT TIMING because I’m obsessed with it and I will devour this book because: Hamilton and Eliza’s story. Yayyy! (Don’t disappoint me pleaseeeeee.)

Side note: The lack of coordination color-wise of these covers side to side makes me frustrated. WHY CAN’T THEY FOLLOW A THEME. I suppose they all have some black?? Except Spindle Fire is like gray?? I CAN’T.

Given to the Sea by Mindy McGinnis (Given Duet #1): Mindy McGinnis has wowed me before with previous works SO I WANT THIS NOW thanks.

Fireworks by Katie Cotugno: I believe I may have read one other book from this author?? But like I can’t remember if it was by this author or not? But I honestly don’t know about this one… it just rubs me the wrong way for some reason. *shrug*

Literally by Lucy Keating: No idea what this one is about! I swear, I go on Goodreads. I just have a tiny little issue of forgetting the synopsis 2 seconds after I read it and being too lazy to reopen and read it again. Oops.

Duels and Deception by Cindy Anstey: Awww what a cute pastel-blue cover with fancy-ish writing! I like it. Do I know what the story is about? Ummmm deception? And duels, duh.

April 18th

Meg & Linus by Hanna Nowinski: I love this cover design!! I WANT THIS NOW. It also seems super cute, so. Even death-and-more-death people need their contemporaries!

The Adjustment by Suzanne Young: I haven’t read this series, but, it’s ending so I might just end up reading the whole series one day! Until then, I hope the people who are reading this series enjoy this. 🙂

April 25th

North of Happy by Adi Alsaid: I actually wasn’t the biggest fan of the other book I read from this author, I believe it was Never Always Sometimes? Something like that. BUT. I am willing to give this author another chance!

The Whole Thing Together by Ann Brashares: I actually read the synopsis again for this one! Because I needed to find the cover. And it sounds like a great book about relationships, family, and self-discovery, so yay!

In a nutshell: April is full of contemporary releases! If you’re a fan of contemporary, like me, I’m sure that news makes you happy. If not, well, there are still plenty of other past releases this year to keep you company! (Seriously, there are SO MANY BOOKS being released my goal of reading them all is rapidly growing more and more impossible… *cries*)

Which of these are you looking forward to?? Do you enjoy contemporaries? Are you being overwhelmed with the copious amounts of books being released?? Let me know in the comments!

Goodbye February, hello March book releases! // NEW BOOKS YAY.

Hey everyone!

February is over, can you believe it?? It went by so fast ahhhh. I mean, even apart from the fact that it’s only 28 days. I hope your month went well! Mine was made better by the fact that I finally got to read A Conjuring of Light. 😛 (No, I’m not going to stop talking about it.) But the end of February brings March, which of course, means new book releases! And for your convenience, I have plenty of them here for you to check out aha. Let’s get into it!

2017 March book releases

March 7th

  • The Inexplicable Logic of My Life by Benjamin Alire Sáenz: I haven’t read Aristotle and Dante yet (cue gasps, I know, I WILL READ IT though) but I’m currently reading it and I’m so excited for people to read this!
  • Goodbye Days by Jeff Zentner: I’ve heard so much about this author and I’m so excited to see what this book is like.
  • The Great Pursuit by Wendy Higgins (Eurona Duology #2): I haven’t read the first book, The Great Hunt, but I do have it on my TBR and hope people who’s in the middle of this duology enjoy this book!
  • You’re Welcome, Universe by Whitney Gardner: I’ve heard a lot about this one, and am excited to see how the deaf main character is portrayed as well.
  • The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco (The Bone Witch #1): I’m not quite sure what this is about, but it seems interesting aha.
  • Seven Days of You by Cecilia Vinesse: I only read a couple of reviews on this one, from what I’ve read of the reviews and the synopsis, it seems like a cute novel!
  • The Song Rising by Samantha Shannon (The Bone Season #3): I’m not sure if I have this on my TBR, but it seems like it’s a good series so I might have to pick it up!
  • Alone by Scott Sigler (The Generations Trilogy #3): I’ve seen the previous books before, but I never really got the motivation to pick them up haha. I hope people following the series enjoy the last book though!

March 14th

  • The End of Oz by Danielle Paige (Dorothy Must Die #4): I haven’t started this series, but I’m pretty sure this is the final book so I think I might pick it up soon. 🙂
  • Hunted by Meagan Spooner: Beauty and the Beast retelling, yay!
  • Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde: Tbh I have no idea what this is about, I’m sure it’s good, but the fact that it does not coordinate with the green theme of the first two books is bothering me SO MUCH. Ahem.

March 21st

No idea what either one is about. (Hey, that’s what Goodreads is for!) But they seem good aha. 😛

March 28th

  • Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor (Strange the Dreamer #1): OH HI IT’S LAINI TAYLOR’S BOOK I’m not dying for this or anything. (GIVE IT TO ME NOWWWWW.)
  • A Crown of Wishes by Roshani Chokshi (The Star-Touched Queen #2): I enjoyed the first book of the series, but I have a feeling I’m going to love this one even more, and I’m so excited. ALSO THAT COVER.
  • Blood Rose Rebellion by Rosalyn Eves (Blood Rose Rebellion #1): A new author, but I’ve seen this around and the cover and synopsis makes me want to pick this up so much.
  • Things I Should’ve Known by Claire LaZebnik: I’m SO excited for this release. The last book I read from her (a while ago, but nonetheless), Epic Fail, was very adorable and I can’t wait to read this one.
  • The Heartbeats of Wing Jones by Katherine Webber: THIS COVER omg.
  • The Gauntlet by Karuna Riazi: Wow the contrast between this one and the other two books is major and causes much pain to my eyes, but nonetheless, seems intriguing!

And there we have it! I WANT THEM ALLLLLL. At least March 7th releases aren’t too far off, but I especially want March 28th to come fasterrrrrrr omg. So many books here! Which of these are you looking forward to the most?? Any other March release you’re looking forward to? Let me know in the comments!

Yup, still more books! | 2017 February Releases

Hi everyone! It’s February, the start of a new month which means another book releases post! I swear, each and every one of these posts are constantly filled with so many pretty covers. Stop making me want you, books! I don’t have enough money lolll. This month is full of exciting releases, once again, so let’s just jump right into it!

Let's ignore the overly-pink theme of this graphic...
I apologize for the overly-pink theme of this graphic…

February 2nd

  • Traitor to the Throne by Alwyn Hamilton: The US cover (being released next month) is horrifying so I shall ignore it because I despise cover changes and just whyyyyyyy. UGH. But aside from that, I really want to read this book! ❤
  • This Beats Perfect by Rebecca Denton: I don’t know what it’s about but it looks cute!

February 7th

  • Rise of Fire by Sophie Jordan (Reign of Shadows #2): I haven’t read the first book, but I’ve been meaning to. The cover’s pretty cool though!
  • Starfall by Melissa Landers (Starflight #2): GIVE THIS TO MEEEEEE. I adored the first book and I want this so much ahhhh.
  • Empress of a Thousand Skies by Rhoda Belleza:
  • King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard (Red Queen #3): I have mixed feelings on this series, but I am definitely going to read this book in hopes of it turning out to be a worthwhile read. 🙂
  • The Sky Between You and Me by Catherine Alene: I don’t know what this is about (I did read the synopsis on Goodreads but I don’t remember it anymore??) but I’m cover-judging and it looks cute aha.
  • A Tragic Kind of Wonderful by Eric Lindstrom: I really enjoyed his other novel, Not If I See You First, so I can’t wait to see what he did with this one. (And that cover though!)

I’m going to be honest here, I don’t have a clue what any of these are like (except for the first one, duh) but they’re being released this month and seem interesting!

February 14th

  • The Wish Granter by C.J. Redwine (Ravenspire #2): I should probably start the first book…
  • The Valiant by Lesley Livingston: Ooh female gladiators and lots of action, is what this sounds like! Me want.
  • Miranda and Caliban by Jacqueline Carey: This book seems so heart-wrenching!
  • #famous by Jilly Gagnon: Awww this seems so adorable. Check out the synopsis on Goodreads haha. 😉
  • American Street by Ibi Zoboi: This book seems to deal with multiple topics and it has good reviews, so fingers crossed it’s as good as it sounds. 🙂

February 21st

  • A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab (Shades of Magic #3) CAN WE JUSTTTTTT. Omg. I’m actually dying. I NEED THIS BOOK. If you haven’t picked up this series, you absolutely must ahhhhh. ❤
  • The Dragon’s Price by Bethany Wiggins (Transference #1): Dragons!
  • Long May She Reign by Rhiannon Thomas:  Pretty cover haha. But it’s also a fantasy stand-alone (which is rare, when you think about it) and I’m intrigued by the storyline!

February 28th

  • The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas: So many people are looking forward to this one, and I’m certainly not an exception! It seems like such an important and great read. I hope it doesn’t disappoint!
  • The Ship Beyond Time by Heidi Heilig (The Girl From Everywhere #2): Another sequel to a series I’ve been meaning to start but haven’t! According to Goodreads there doesn’t seem to be another book after this so I think it would be perfect to start this series haha. (And not have to die for the next book, ahem.)
  • Sad Perfect by Stephanie Elliot: This book deals with a girl who has an eating disorder (ARFID) and omg it sounds so sad but also hopeful and I really do want to read it.
  • 10 Things I Can See From Here by Carrie Mac: The main character in this book has anxiety, and it seems like a very good read!
  • Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller (Daughter of the Pirate King #1): PIRATES.

So many amazing reads, as usual! Well, I’m assuming they’re amazing. I could be wrong. But I hope I’m not haha. Which of these are you looking forward to? Have you read any of these? Let me know in the comments! ❤

Welcome, 2017! (A bit belated but…) // An apology and 2017 January Book Releases!

Hi everyone! It’s been SO LONGGGGG agh. I’m questioning my ability to type proper sentences I’ve been away from this blog for so long. I’m wondering whether I’m even a book blogger, that’s how long I’ve been away. *sob* I missed youuuuuu and it’s okay, I’m not asking for “I missed you too” I just wanted to state that fact. I love you guys and agh 7 MONTHS. All gone. Since my last post. Can you even believe it?? Because I’m still in shock.

Ahem.

But I digress. Where do I even begin at the horrors of these past few months? A little recap:

  • I stopped blogging for more than 7 months, no joke. *cue tears* *hides from mob of angry people*
  • I stopped blogging for more than 7 months.
  • I died and it’s my ghost speaking to you all now.
  • Don’t worry I’m still alive.
  • I ran out of chocolate.
  • (It’s okay I got more)
  • I ran out of shelf space.
  • But then I got a new shelf. Wait, that’s not a bad thing.
  • Trump became president and my soul is still crying.
  • I stopped blogging for more than 7 months.
  • No. blogging. for. seven. months. Who even am I?
  • I became an adult and started university which is my pathetic excuse for no blogging
  • I stopped blogging for seven months.
  • And I’ll stop here.
  • Was this too much?

Okay I should stop before I drive you insane?? Okay.

But guys, it’s 2017!! And no, I did not just realize this. BUT. I was stating the fact. Though to be honest I’m still kind of shocked. 30 days was not enough for me to adjust to the idea! But it’s okay. I have another 11 months before I go through the whole cycle over again. How has 2017 been treating you so far?? Hopefully well and you’re all good and happy and perhaps stressed because #life. Wait, the last one’s just me. 😉 But really, how’s 2017?

I will definitely try to come up with a more consistent blogging schedule though, this whole posting and then disappearing for 7 months really isn’t doing me any favors and is actually making me quite sad and pressured afterwards. SO. New year, new me! Right? Right. Okay then.

Something that hasn’t changed, though! MY LOVE FOR BOOKS. I promise you, that has not changed and will never change, no matter what my schedule is. Pinky promise and all that jazz! This month has went by so fast, and I swear, the amount of books being released each month kind of drives me insane? Because I cannot keep up, for the life of me. So I’ve decided to make a list of the books that was released this month! I’ve done this before in the past, and I usually do it at the beginning of a month, but, well..

So let’s do this!

  • History is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera: ADAM. SILVERA. That’s all I need to know. GIVE ME plz.
  • Caraval by Stephanie Garber (Caraval #1): Tbh I’m not sure what this one’s about? But it seems interesting!
  • By Your Side by Kasie West: Kasie West’s books are so adorable!! I want thissssss.
  • RoseBlood by A.G. Howard: Phantom of the Opera retelling? Sign me up!
  • Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth (Carve the Mark #1): I’ve read mixed reviews, but I’m still hoping it’s good? I enjoyed Divergent well enough, hopefully this one’s just as good or better?
  • Windwitch by Susan Dennard (Truthwitch #2): I really enjoyed Truthwitch, and I’ve heard good things about this one so super excited!
  • Frostblood by Elly Blake (Frostblood Saga #1): Ice and blood and fantasy and all the good things. Yum.
  • The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden: Positive reviews! Fingers crossed.
  • The Edge of Everything by Jeff Giles: Ummm… the cover is kind of super pretty soooo.
  • All of the other books, tbh. I was just too lazy to write a reason for why I want them? Pretty much because most of these all have #prettycovers and I’m just slightly obsessed with books in general? Just slightly.

Omg, so many good books. I hope. They look good so I’m just judging from the covers, once again. Nothing new, right? I hope you guys have had a great year, hope you’re enjoying this brand new year, and I’m looking forward to talking to you all once again! (AFTER 7 MONTHS *sobs again*) What books are you looking forward to? Have you read any of these books? If you have, tell me if you liked/disliked because right now I haven’t read a single one of these?? And I need your opinions. (I know, I know. I’ll get on it.. sometime.)

Hugs! ❤

Okay, I’m back–FINALLY! | 2016 June Book Releases

Let me start this off by saying; I will not blame you if you decide to smother me with a pillow and chase after me with a stake! I’ve been gone, without a single explanation or notice for SO LONG it’s literally been a month (and more?) since my last post. Seriously. My last post was last month’s upcoming book releases, and now it’s June. Talk about absences. And awkwardness. Ahem. SOOO my point is I am immensely sorry! I offer chocolate and cake as apology. (That’s a big deal, just saying. No one touches my chocolate.) The past month has been crazy with exams and everything, and things are still a bit crazy but I’ve resolved to not let my blog die with me as I struggle through the final days of school. Yes. #determined

But that’s all besides the point. Right? Right. Let’s just all sit and share candy? And book recommendations? Or, even better, the upcoming releases of this month! It’s so much simpler to keep track of all the amazing-looking releases when they’re all in one place, am I right? You’re welcome, bookish fiends. (Pff, this is totally not to get me back in your good graces, what?)

I know there are tons more releases I must’ve missed, but I believe this is already around 50-ish books? Sooo yeah, I think that’s more than adequate (I’m drowning, pretty much), and plus, among these are the ones I’m most excited for. A nice mix of contemporary as well as sci-fi/fantasy novels this month, so it’s sure to keep any bookworm happy, am I right? (Not our wallets though…) Some of the ones I’m excited for include All the Feels, The Loose Ends List, One Paris Summer, Ivory and Bone, Never Ever, And I Darken, as well as Winning. So many amazing books and covers here!! *drools*

Alright, so I think that’s all for today, folks! Unfortunately I will continue to be a bit tied up with studies and everything for the next bit and I *might* take another unnamed hiatus (fingers crossed I won’t though) BUT I will most definitely be seeing you guys soon in another post! ❤ Hope you guys are all enjoying your weekend–let me know how you’ve been! I’ve missed you. 😀

I’m totally not a week late on this…! | 2016 May Book Releases

Hey everyone, and Happy Mother’s Day!! It’s been a while since I posted anything on the blog, but I’m here to rectify that with this post! And shhhhh, what are you talking about, this post is definitely not late or anything. 🙂 After all, there’s never a wrong time to share new upcoming book releases! Unless you share them when they’re no longer upcoming. Or if you’re being chased by hordes of rabid monkeys. Though maybe even then it would be okay. You never know.

Alright, let’s just get into the stunning covers! I mean, good books.

*temporarily stops drooling over new releases and pretty covers* Sooo, that’s it, I think, for a lot of the YA book releases for May! Thank god May 3rd already came and passed, ’cause there are SO MANY books released that day that I can’t wait to get my hands. But there are still so many other amazing releases spread out throughout the month! *grabby hands*

So tell me: which books are YOU excited for? (Is anyone else squealing about A Court of Mist and Fury, The Hidden Oracle, Queen of Hearts, The Unexpected Everything, Summer Days and Summer Nights, The Crown, Ruined and The Crown’s Game?? and all of the other books with pretty covers?) Oh, and can someone say, contemporaries alert! There are so many of them being released, though there are plenty of other genres this month added in as well. Either way it ends up with tons of books and pretty covers, and a broke bookworm. Oh wait. Most of us already start off as broke, right. (Most of us meaning me, of course.)

It’s been, once again, a while since I talked to you guys all (EXAMS ARE THE WORST I tell you) and I missed you! I hope this post puts me back in your good graces, guys. 😀 Here, I’ll even add in some chocolate to sweeten it up. Now you can’t refuse. I hope you guys are all enjoying the weekend–I know I am!

Tons of new books, as usual! (The Rose and the Dagger is coming out–YES!) | 2016 April Book Releases

Okay, so I’m like 8 days late on this? Oops. But oh well, rather do it late than never.. these posts are as much for me as for you guys, and I must admit this can be very useful for me when I need to remind myself of the books I want to look out for? XD (THERE ARE SO MANY I CAN’T KEEP TRACK omg) Though for this month I feel like the number of anticipated books I have is lower than usual..? But still, lots of books. *grabby hands* (Also, The Rose and the Dagger is being released this month–which, honestly, would be enough just on its own, I’ve been waiting for this book for SO LONG. AHHHHH.) Anyway, let’s get onto the books!

(But mostly the covers. #bookwormtruths) And of course, you all know I’m super psyched for The Rose and the Dagger (it’s like chocolate-level amazingness for me right now, even though I don’t know how it will turn out yet), though I also can’t wait for many other books like The Glittering Court, The Raven King, When We Collided, etc etc. SO TELL ME. What books are YOU looking forard to the most? Let us squeal over these books! Because, ahem, they look stunning. Oh, and they all seem amazing. So. Fangirling time!
I hope you guys all have a great Friday! You can bet I’ll be gobbling up chocolate to celebrate (any excuse to eat chocolate is fine by me, obviously) the arrival of the weekend…

Oh my god Lady Midnight!! And so many other books, woo! | 2016 March Book Releases

Eeep, happy 1st day of March! There are soooo many books being released today (ahem, proof is right below), along with so many amazing books being released throughout the month! And, me, being a good little chocolate bar, decided to create a collective post (as I always do at the beginning of each month!) with all the YA book releases I find that are being released said month. This month in particular is one I’ve been anticipating FOREVER, because—you guessed it—LADY MIDNIGHT is being released!! *Cue intense fangirling shrieks* And sooo many other AMAZING books too. So let’s do this!

(Oh, just a tip if you want to gush over all the amazing covers—which you obviously want to do—if you press one of the book covers, it will open up a bigger sized view of the cover, and you can view the other covers this way too.)
