Hey everyone! I decided to squeeze in this book tag before I leave for school. I haven’t posted this weekend, :(, since I’ve been so swamped with things! I even didn’t get the chance to create a scheduled post. Anyway, I was tagged in this tag by Calliope the Book Goddess! Thank you so much! ❤ I really appreciate it. If you all haven’t visited her blog yet, do so immediately since it’s full of fun and quality posts.
Let’s get on with it!
1. A popular book or series that you didn’t like
I’m sure all of you (or at least most of you) know by now that I didn’t like the Matched book and series, so to change up my answer for once, I’m going to go with a more recent read, which is Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews. I reviewed it—if you want to check it out, press here—and really, it was quite difficult since I wanted to like this book so much, but I just didn’t.
2. A popular book that everyone hates but you love
Okay, not everyone hates this book, but a lot of people do. However I happen to love this book, because after all, ♪Haters gonna hate! There’s just something so satisfying to me in reading these books, they’re just so much fun, even if it’s not exactly quality writing.
3. A love triangle where your ship did not sail
I actually had a very hard time choosing a book for this! There are so many love triangles in books, I hadn’t even realized how in most of them I’m okay with the end choice. Though it’s probably my brain failing me right now. Come on. It’s a Monday, people.
Anyway, I’m going to choose the love triangle in Matched by Ally Condie, between Cassia, Xander, and… Ky? Right? I think that’s his name. I’m not going to say who I wish the girl ends up with, in case any of you ever wanted to read this book. 😉 (In case you want to know, I don’t recommend it. Unfortunately.)
4. A popular genre that you hardly reach for
I don’t know… probably historical fiction? It’s not that I dislike reading it, I just don’t, you know? Oh, and non-fiction! I have attempted to read several nonfiction novels in recent months, and it’s just not for me.
5. A beloved character you didn’t like
I’m going to choose Adam for this one. Although he’s not particularly ‘beloved’ by a lot of people (thank goodness! He doesn’t deserve it) I know there are lots of people who ship Juliette and Adam together, and like him. So, yeah. I think it’s been clear to a lot of you what my feelings on Adam are, am I right? (AKA Let’s go dump him in a fire.)
6. A popular author you can’t get into
Hmm… I honestly don’t have an answer for this one right now! Maybe it’s a case of the Monday that’s influenceing me, but there really is no ‘popular’ author that I can’t get into. Huh. I wonder what that says about me…
7. A popular books series you have no interest in reading
I don’t think this comes as a shock to any of you, but if it does, well, now you know! 🙂 I’m not saying anything bad against people who did read this or want to read it, but I simply don’t have any interest at all reading this book series myself.
8. An adaptation you like better than the book
I have a feeling when I watch Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, I might be having that as an answer, but I haven’t watched it yet so I’m going to go with The Fault in Our Stars! I liked the book, but I would say I enjoyed the movie more, which doesn’t happen often for me, so yeah. (Ugh, these ‘so yeahs’ are bothering me…I am so out of it today!)
Tagging Time!
I tagged a lot of people in my last book tag (which was My Life in Books, I believe?) and right now I am completely blanked out on people to tag, since I need to be leaving soon and don’t have enough time to think about it! So if you think this tag is cool and haven’t done it before, please don’t be shy to let me know, since I’d be happy to tag you! ❤ I will probably be tagging people anyway later on today, once I have more time. 🙂
So, I tag…
- Astra @ A Stranger’s Guide to Novels
- Catia @ The Girl Who Read Too Much
- Kat @ The Booklander
- Katja @ Life and Other Disasters
- Lia @ Book Land
- Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books
- Michelle @ The Writing Hufflepuff
- Raven @ Dreamy Addictions
So what did you think of my answers? Agree on any of them? I’d be curious to hear what you’d choose!
I feel the same way about the selection 😉

I really liked the Selection series as well, but I hated America. Once I ignored how annoying she was, I enjoyed the series.

Haha yes, America isn’t the best protagonist! So happy you were able to enjoy the series despite her. ❤

I didn’t like Me and Earl and the Dying Girl too but I ended up watching the movie last week and it was so much better especially the ending scenes. That final scenes gave me a heartbreak

Yay! I’m so happy you enjoyed the movie more than the book. I’ve been hearing a lot of positive things about the movie from readers who didn’t like the book, so I can’t wait to watch the movie myself! ❤
Have you done this tag? (I don't think I saw it on your blog yet… :P) If you haven't, I officially tag you to do it! 🙂 I'd love to see your answers.

I don’t think I’m interested in the Fifty Shades Of Grey series either hahaha. Um, for me I thought that the tfios movie and book were on the same level, maybe I liked the movie slightly more because the soundtrack was brill! I might do this tag, later on in the week and I’ll be sure to link back on to your blog!

Glad I’m not alone there! 🙂 I’m happy that you enjoyed both the movie and the book! Haha yes, the movie’s soundtrack was definitely on fleek. ❤ Oh yes, please do! I officially tag you to do it!

I did not finished Matched because I was shipping Cassia with Xander. I really liked Xander and I definitely did not like Ky. I don’t know who she really ends up with but I hope it’s Xander.

Yess!! I was the same. Unfortunately, my ship didn’t sail..
I just couldn’t fall for Ky, to me, Xander was the better choice. ❤

The movie is great! It may not seem that way at first, but it impacted me so much more in the end than the book ever could.
Absolutely ;)!

Analee! I’m exactly the same with the Selection! I honestly love it even though its got its bad points. In quite addicted. I just got the last two books in the series from the library and I am very excited to read them!
And I’m with you in Adam. Let’s go throw him into a volcano! I’ve only read Shatter Me but I don’t like him! And I’m not someone who dislikes characters easily..

Yes! The books may not be the best, but I love them anyway. I’m so glad you now have the chance to read the rest of the series! 😄
Haha if you already dislike Adam, I know you’re going to absolutely loathe him as you finish the series! 😂 He definitely deserves to be thrown into a volcano.
Also: have you done this tag? If not, I officially tag you to do it! ❤

I really don’t like Adam either! He’s such a bothering character! I was okay with him in Shatter Me, even though I wasn’t his biggest fan…but now that I’ve read all the books, I just can’t stand him!!
The Selection series is quite addicting! Fast-paced stories, perfect if you’re looking for a little distraction, I think! 🙂

Right? That’s exactly how I felt about him too. He’s simply such a jerk!
Yes, definitely! They’re great if you want to take a little break from heavier novels. ❤
