The Unpopular Opinion Book Tag!

Hey everyone! I decided to squeeze in this book tag before I leave for school. I haven’t posted this weekend, :(, since I’ve been so swamped with things! I even didn’t get the chance to create a scheduled post. Anyway, I was tagged in this tag by Calliope the Book Goddess! Thank you so much! ❤ I really appreciate it. If you all haven’t visited her blog yet, do so immediately since it’s full of fun and quality posts.

Let’s get on with it!

1. A popular book or series that you didn’t like

Me Earl and the Dying Girl

I’m sure all of you (or at least most of you) know by now that I didn’t like the Matched book and series, so to change up my answer for once, I’m going to go with a more recent read, which is Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews. I reviewed it—if you want to check it out, press here—and really, it was quite difficult since I wanted to like this book so much, but I just didn’t.

2. A popular book that everyone hates but you love

The Selection

Okay, not everyone hates this book, but a lot of people do. However I happen to love this book, because after all, ♪Haters gonna hate! There’s just something so satisfying to me in reading these books, they’re just so much fun, even if it’s not exactly quality writing.

3. A love triangle where your ship did not sail

Matched

I actually had a very hard time choosing a book for this! There are so many love triangles in books, I hadn’t even realized how in most of them I’m okay with the end choice. Though it’s probably my brain failing me right now. Come on. It’s a Monday, people.

Anyway, I’m going to choose the love triangle in Matched by Ally Condie, between Cassia, Xander, and… Ky? Right? I think that’s his name. I’m not going to say who I wish the girl ends up with, in case any of you ever wanted to read this book. 😉 (In case you want to know, I don’t recommend it. Unfortunately.)

4. A popular genre that you hardly reach for

I don’t know… probably historical fiction? It’s not that I dislike reading it, I just don’t, you know? Oh, and non-fiction! I have attempted to read several nonfiction novels in recent months, and it’s just not for me.

5. A beloved character you didn’t like

Shatter Me

I’m going to choose Adam for this one. Although he’s not particularly ‘beloved’ by a lot of people (thank goodness! He doesn’t deserve it) I know there are lots of people who ship Juliette and Adam together, and like him. So, yeah. I think it’s been clear to a lot of you what my feelings on Adam are, am I right? (AKA Let’s go dump him in a fire.)

6. A popular author you can’t get into

Hmm… I honestly don’t have an answer for this one right now! Maybe it’s a case of the Monday that’s influenceing me, but there really is no ‘popular’ author that I can’t get into. Huh. I wonder what that says about me…

7. A popular books series you have no interest in reading

Fifty Shades of Grey Book Cover

I don’t think this comes as a shock to any of you, but if it does, well, now you know! 🙂 I’m not saying anything bad against people who did read this or want to read it, but I simply don’t have any interest at all reading this book series myself.

8. An adaptation you like better than the book

I have a feeling when I watch Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, I might be having that as an answer, but I haven’t watched it yet so I’m going to go with The Fault in Our Stars! I liked the book, but I would say I enjoyed the movie more, which doesn’t happen often for me, so yeah. (Ugh, these ‘so yeahs’ are bothering me…I am so out of it today!)

Tagging Time!

I tagged a lot of people in my last book tag (which was My Life in Books, I believe?) and right now I am completely blanked out on people to tag, since I need to be leaving soon and don’t have enough time to think about it! :/ So if you think this tag is cool and haven’t done it before, please don’t be shy to let me know, since I’d be happy to tag you! ❤ I will probably be tagging people anyway later on today, once I have more time. 🙂

So, I tag…

So what did you think of my answers? Agree on any of them? I’d be curious to hear what you’d choose!

Until the Next Meal, Analee
