Laughter is fabulous. Ergo books that will make you laugh is even better. So read these! | Top Ten Tuesday #32

If you’re anything like me, you most likely adore or at least mildly appreciate books with humor. I mean, who doesn’t? When (the right) humor is included, whether it be from witty dialogue, character interactions, or anything, a book generally becomes 10 times better. Generally. Or at least better, in general. (I’m saying ‘general’ too much, aren’t I? But generally, that’s how it is. Humor make books a better place. Right? Right.) Of course, it does depend on the quality of humor–but that’s a discussion for another day. So. The topic this week, for Top Ten Tuesday from The Broke and the Bookish, is Ten Books That Will Make You Laugh (or at least chuckle)–which is utterly perfect! Though making this list has made me realized how little books I had to choose from for this list… but nonetheless, here it is! In no particular order, as usual. If you haven’t read these books yet, YOU SHOULD MUST. Just sayin’.

1. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

Fangirl

Ahhh, the sly and little tidbits of humour in this one absolutely killed me in this one! I loved them to death. Fangirl was SUCH a fun read and I remember smiling so much throughout this book! Not to mention it definitely caused me to laugh out loud various moments. Cath and Reagan, Cath and Levi, so many awesome exchanges in this book.

Reagan was sitting up at Cath’s desk when Cath woke up.
“Are you awake?”
“Have you been watching me sleep?”
“Yes, Bella. Are you awake?”
“No.”

#relatable (about the not being awake thing. I don’t usually have a person watching me sleep. I’ll leave that to Bella. And Cath, apparently. 😛 LOL.)

2. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Anna & the French Kiss

I still have not read Lola or Isla (BUT I WILL I PROMISE) but Anna and the French Kiss, I can say, is adorable! Although it’s not something that will make you collapse in a fit of giggles every couple of pages (I’d love to come across a book like that though, LOL) I don’t doubt that it will cause a few chuckles or at least some large grins for most of you.

“Thanks. I forgot how to flip off the English. I’ll use the correct hand gesture next time.”
“My pleasure. Always happy to educate.”

3. Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda

SIMONNNNN. (!!!) I think half the reason I loved this book so much was just because of Simon. I honestly want him to COME TO LIFE. (I say for the millionth time.) But seriously. This book is amazing, and not just because of Simon! (Though he plays a big part.) The humor in this is fabulous too, so it’s double the win!

“What’s a dementor?”
I mean, I can’t even. “Nora, you are no longer my sister.”
“So it’s some Harry Potter thing,” she says.

4. Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins

Rebel Belle

Oh my gosh, this book. It had its faults, for sure, but it was so much FUN to read. Aha, like seriously. Perhaps the humor might appeal to different people, depending, but to me, it was great. This book was so light-hearted and really enjoyed reading from Harper (the main character)’s perspective. Definitely try out this book if you’re looking for a mostly fluffy and amusing read!

“Just . . . I don’t like crying girls, okay?” We were quiet for a second while I took that in. “That was very nice of you, David,” I finally said. “Now hold on because I’m about to drive into a fence.”
“Yeah, okay,” he muttered, his eyes still closed. “You do that.” Then his eyes shot open. “Wait, what?”

5. A Darker Shade of Magic (& A Gathering of Shadows) by V.E. Schwab

A Darker Shade of Magic

One of the biggest things I loved about this book, and its sequel is the copious amounts of sass in the dialogue of the characters. Like YASSS. I approve with quite a lot of enthusiasm. (!!!) Seriously, the witty dialogue is probably one of the things I love most. That, and all the other amazing things about this book. READ IT. (Especially A Gathering of Shadows, because it was perfection.)

“I apologize for anything I might have done. I was not myself.”
“I apologize for shooting you in the leg. I was myself entirely.”

6. All I’ve Never Wanted by Ana Huang

All I've Never Wanted

This was a book I read quite some time ago (last year, psh, yes, that counts as a long time ago) but I really enjoyed it! It was filled with so much humor, and it was so much fun to read!! Also the romance(s) in the book were super adorable. So. ❤

7. It’s a Wonderful Death by Sarah J. Schmitt

It's a Wonderful Death

This, is actually a book I recently (?) finished–or at least, finished sometime this week; I forget when exactly because I’ve been doing other things too, but anyway! I loved reading this book so much. Near the end I think I might’ve even teared a bit? But it’s not a sad book, I assure you, despite what it may seem like. It was actually a lot of fun to read, and even if you’re not going to fall laughing each page, it still has a great undertone of witty humor which I adored.

8. Penryn & the End of Days by Susan Ee

Penryn & the End of Days series

I read this series last year, and really enjoyed it! Susan Ee is definitely an author I will be looking out for now. One of the most notable things that stood out to be about the series, though, is the humor. Despite the dark, and gritty mood and the post-apocalyptic world and everything, it had kind of a playful tone to it at times?? And it was so entertaining to read, and drew me a lot more to the characters.

“My friends call me Wrath,” says Raffe. “My enemies call me Please Have Mercy. What’s your name, soldier boy?”

9. Rick Riordan

Rick Riordan pic

As much as I would’ve liked to keep up with a semblance that I don’t cheat on these Top Ten Tuesday lists, I can’t. And won’t. I’m too far gone into the habit to stop now! Plus you all know I couldn’t. Every single one of Rick Riordan’s books that I have read, has managed to make me chuckle or just full out laugh at least once. I’m especially a huge fan of his Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus series; both are AMAZING for humor. Seriously.

“I’m so glad you’re here,” Aphrodite said. “War is coming. Bloodshed is inevitable. So there’s really only one thing to do.”
“Uh… and that is?” Annabeth ventured.
“Why, have tea and chat, obviously.”

Ahhhh, memories. I read The Mark of Athena such a long time ago but it only feels like yesterday!

10. Cassandra Clare

Author Cassandra Clare

Similar to my situation with Rick Riordan, Cassandra Clare has written so many books, and the books I’ve read from her (aka, anything set in the Shadowhunter world) always have some part that makes me laugh. Most notably in The Infernal Devices and Lady Midnight. I loved the characters so much in both, and the dialogue was just amazing! Not to say that TMI wasn’t, but I guess I just don’t remember it as much since it’s been a while since I read them.

“I bet you didn’t like Magnus much, either,” said Julian, still with the same odd, stiff look on his face.
“Maybe not,” said Jace, “but I never would have said so.”
“Because it would have hurt Alec’s feelings?” Emma asked.
“No,” said Jace, “because Magnus would have turned me into a hat rack.”

Alright, so I think that’s it for this week’s list! I have to say, I’m actually kind of surprised I managed to get to ten? I feel like despite the many books with witty characters and humor and everything, there’s still not enough.. Maybe I just forgot a lot of them. Oh well. These ones, for sure, are ones you MUST absolutely read if you haven’t already! Especially if you’re looking to have a fun read and a good laugh a few times too. 😉 Which of these have you read? Which quotes are your favorites? Do you have any recommendations for me, in terms of YA novels with humor? It doesn’t matter which genre–you can see that I have a mismatch of a bunch myself. Oh, and what do YOU think of humor in books?? What type do you like best? Witty, sarcastic, etc. Let me know any of your thoughts below! And feel free to link your own TTT post as well. 😉

Calling all contemporary cravers: You most definitely should read these books..! | Top Ten Tuesday #31

Can you believe it’s been over a month since I last participated in this meme? :O I honestly had not expected that would happen. TTT is such a fun meme, and I’m sorry to have missed out on so many of them. But let us not dwell in the past! I’m here now, today, to participate in this week’s theme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish: “Ten Books Every X Should Read (up to you! Examples: every history nerd, memoir lover, ballet lover, feminist, college student, etc etc.)” As you can tell from the title, I’m going to be listing ten books that all contemporary cravers should eat! Along with fantasy (<3), the contemporary genre has been the one I’ve been reading most often in the past year or so, and I love it so much! I figured I might as well choose it for this week’s theme. 😉 Alright, be prepared for lots of squealing because these books are all SO AMAZING. Oh, and just saying: this is not in any order--because NOPE that’s way too hard. Like choosing between my (nonexistant) babies, so.

1. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Anna & the French Kiss

Okay, so I haven’t read the rest of the following books (Lola, Isla, you know.) but this book was just so cute! It felt so fluffy and although it’s not perfect, I’d bet the majority of contemporary lovers are a fan of this book (or the following ones), so if you haven’t hopped on this train yet–you should! 😛 I also have a review on it, if you want to check it out. (You should. Ahem. #selfpromotion XD)

2. Fangirl, Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

Yes, I’m kind of cheating. But hey, what’s a good TTT post without it? 😛 I doubt I’ve gotten through any TTT posts without adding something or another but whatever. #rebel Anyway. Fangirl and Eleanor & Park are both amazing novels by Rainbow Rowell, who I absolutely love as an author! Her books are just so good. They offer such a sweet romance yet also include so many other important messages–which I love.

3. The Sky is EverywhereI’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson

AHHHH Jandy Nelson has officially reached being one of my favourite contemporary authors! And I know that it mind seem crazy, deeming her a favourite when I only read two of her books, but seriously, guys. I finally know what everyone’s been talking about. Her debut novel (which I finished last night) was so amazingly amazing–it blew so many of my expectations away! And I absolutely devoured I’ll Give You the Sun when I read it a couple months back. Her books always have such an emotional theme to them while being so sweet at the same time! I need more Jandy Nelson books!!

4. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda

Ah, Simon. This book, was, of course, amazing. Everyone has been squealing about this book for so long, and I totally get it now! Also, can I just say that SIMON IS AWESOME. Omg. I just wish he’d, like, come to life so we could be best friends? Cause that’s exactly what we’d be. XD So many things in this book blew me away, and I loved it so much. So if you haven’t read it, GO. NOWWWW. Ahem.

5. More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera

More Happy Than Not

So, this is another one of my 2016 reads, and oh. my. god. This book literally broke my heart into two pieces, then went right ahead and stomped on it. Aghhhh the emotional trauma here is real! This LGBT novel has been the talk of the book community back when it was first released, and I hadn’t read enough reviews to know what it was exactly like. Oh, boy. It tore my heart into pieces, but naturally, that’s exactly why you MUST read this! #bookwormlogic

6. A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness

A Monster Calls

I’m not exactly sure if this falls into the category of contemporary? I mean… having a tree become a vicious story-telling monster-thing doesn’t exactly happen in real life, so… But to me, it still felt like a contemporary, so whether it is or isn’t.. that’s too bad! This book.. left me speechless. Honestly. Prior to reading this, of course I already knew what an amazing author Patrick Ness is, however this book is definitely one of his best. It was so heartbreaking yet so real and just so heartbreaking. AGH. I love it.

7. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

The Perks of Being A Wallflower

Ahh what an amazing book. I will never stop praising it! So artfully written, with such realistic characters and great themes. What’s there not to like? I loved so much the themes of friendship, and coping with life, and being a wallflower, and just… everything. ❤ Read it!!

8. On the FenceThe Distance Between UsThe Fill In Boyfriend by Kasie West

Kasie West has officially became one of my favorite authors–especially when it comes to contemporary. Her novels are always just so cute and so much fun to read, that it always lifts my mood. Sometimes, after getting our hearts stomped on by various novels, what we need the most is just to let it heal by reading a contemporary that makes us smile, am I right?! ‘Course I am. And that’s exactly what these books do!

9. All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

All the Bright Places

So many controversies about this book! Some hate it, some love it, some don’t care. I, for one, loved this book!! It was as good as devouring chocolate, except with more emotional pain and heartbreaking. A book dealing with mental illness, and themes like suicide, this book tore my heart to pieces. The characters felt so real, the writing was fantabulous… omg. I am craving for Jennifer Niven’s next novel!

10. Sarah Dessen

Sarah Dessen Books

I’m not even going to bother putting the name of only one or two of her books, because, honestly, you should read them all. Or at least, most. Some. She is one of the QUEENS of contemporary, in my opinion, so if you haven’t read any of her books yet, GO NOW. Run. Before I come and chase you wielding chocolate stakes. Yes, that is possible. I think. Be scared! (I recommend you try out: The Truth About Forever, Just Listen or This Lullaby!)

Honourable mentions–also known as me trying to squish in a bunch of more AMAZING contemporaries (that deserve to be on the list too but isn’t because rules make life cruel):

  • The Summer of Chasing Mermaids by Sarah Ockler (Such beautiful writing and so diverse!)
  • Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy (Although it’s not perfect, I appreciate the message it was trying to promote.)
  • Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon (This was so enjoyable! I especially liked the art and graphics included.)
  • To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han (Ahh, so cute! Jenny Han’s books are adorable. :D)
  • Me Before You by Jojo Moyes (The opposite of the above, really! This book totally broke my heart, but I love it.)
  • Made You Up by Francesca Zappia (This book has some flaws, but it didn’t make it any less enjoyable!)
  • You Were Here by Cori McCarthy (I was actually very pleasantly surprised by this one! It was great.)
  • What You Left Behind by Jessica Verdi (This book put such a great twist on two popular tropes! YES.)

So. Which of these books have you read?! Which haven’t you read? Are you a contemporary craver? (My new favourite term, I think, other than chocolate–which, let’s be real, is always a favorite term) Do you prefer heart-stomping and emotional contemporaries, or cute and fluffy ones? Do you have any recommendations for THIS contemporary craver (me, btw)? TELL ME for I’d love to know. OH, and feel free to leave the link to your own TTT below! I’d love to come and stop by. ❤

Alright, so that’s it, I guess! As always, leave any of your thoughts below, I’m always up for a chat! Enjoy your Tuesday!

Until the Next Meal, Analee

I swear I meant to read these last year…but I didn’t | Top Ten Tuesday #29 (January 12th)

Hello! (It’s me.) Sorry, had to do that. But yes, hello everyone and welcome back to another Top Ten Tuesday, a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish! I seriously haven’t been able to find the time to literally do ANYTHING, but it’s time to break this pattern of no-posts-for-a-week, don’t you think? 😉 Anyway, 2015 was a great year for books…though I must confess, there are a lot of books I meant to read—-but didn’t. SO LET’S DO THIS.

1. The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness

The Rest of Us Just Live Here

Patrick Ness, is, of course, fabulous which is why I have been anticipating the release of his newest book ever since I heard of it! And I swear, I meant to read it around the time of its release—or at least in 2015—but, unfortunately I didn’t. BUT I WILL. Yes, I definitely will. (HUSH even though that’s what I said last year…)

2. The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan

The Sword of Summer

I absolutely devoured Rick Riordan’s previous series, Percy Jackson and the Heroes of Olympus back when I first read them, and so I had really wanted to read The Sword of Summer as well, the first book in his newest series, Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard. But alas… I didn’t. SIGH.

3. More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera

More Happy Than Not_bookcover

Since and before its release, I had been hearing glorious praises about this book! (There was even a cool book tag based on it made too!) It seems like the kind of contemporary that I would love to read, so I had been wanting to read it for, oh, you know, the whole year of 2015? But obviously I didn’t so I will definitely try to read it this year!

4. Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

Illuminae

If you guys have been around the book blogging community for, say, the past 2-4 months, I’d bet you know what I mean when I say this book blew up, literally EVERYWHERE. I’m only half-joking, hush. So color me curious, because (hopefully) all that hype can’t have been running on nothingness.. right?

5. Soundless by Richelle Mead

Soundless

Now, my expectations for this one is not that high, seeing how I’ve braced myself with the knowledge of bad reviews (LOL, that sounds so dramatic when I put it that way)—BUT, I still want to read it because, obviously, I want to see for myself how it is. 🙂 And as such, I had planned to read it last year, but didn’t get around to it. THIS YEAR. It shall happen.

6. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz

Aristotle & Dante_bookcover

Everyone seems to have read this book!! (Except me, SIGH.) I really can’t wait to read it though, it seems like it’ll be a great read! I’m starting to feel like a broken record, just replaying the same thing over and over again, but I WILL GET TO THIS. HOPEFULLY THIS YEAR, and not, you know, in the next century. If that’s even possible.

7. The Beginning of Everything by Robyn Schneider

The Beginning of Everything

After reading Robyn Schneider’s sophomore novel, Extraordinary Means, I really wanted to see how her debut turned out. I had a library copy of it and everything, but unfortunately I didn’t get around to it. It seems to be a good book though!

8. A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

A Darker Shade final for Irene

Along with Vicious (by the same author, but not the same series), A Darker Shade of Magic was really hyped in the more earlier months of 2015, (and even now, to be honest, especially with the release of the second book coming up this year). And I kept telling myself (and everyone else) that I would read it or Vicious sometime soon, but, as what seems to be the sad pattern, I didn’t get around to it. *Crawls into hole*

9. After You by Jojo Moyes

After You

I absolutely loved Me Before You, kind of unexpectedly seeing how I don’t venture much into adult fiction. But I did, and afterwards when I heard about After You, a kind of sequel to the first, I was really excited. I haven’t really read many reviews on it though, to be honest, so I’m not quite sure what to expect. Fingers crossed!

10. The Witch Hunter by Virginia Boecker

The Witch Hunter_bookcover

Marketed as the Graceling meets Game of Thrones, The Witch Hunter had been on my TBR list ever since its release. I mean, I haven’t read the Game of Thrones, but I know enough to assume that this book will definitely be one heck of an adventure. Right? Not to mention the glowing reviews…Hopefully I’m not going to be let down. I honestly meant to read this so long ago, but, come on, you all know me by now. LOL.

Gah, this list feels so long! And this is all without counting ALLL the other books on my TBR…Yeah, seeing how that’s over 500, I doubt we want to go there. (I swear, if anyone is able to come up with a machine that stops time whenever I want to read, I WOULD LOVE YOU. Even if you were an axe murderer. :P) But still, for now, I’ll limit it to just trying to keep up with all these books! Here’s hoping I’ll be able to read these books this year.

Now it’s your turn! Tell me, which books on here have you not read either? WE CAN BE BOOKISHLY LONELY TOGETHER. (Because that totally makes sense.) And if you have read any of these, tell me your thoughts!! I’d love to know so I may be prepared for the future. 😉 Also, I’m curious—which one of these books do you find were hyped the most? Really, basically all of them were, so… TELL ME.

Happy Tuesday!

I Can’t Wait For These Book to Movie Adaptations!! | Top Ten Tuesday #28 (November 10th)

Hello everyone and welcome back to another Top Ten Tuesday, a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish! This week’s topic is:

Top Ten Book To Movie Adaptations I’m Looking Forward To or Ten Book To Movie Adaptations I Still Need To Watch

I feel like I’ve done this kind of topic before, but I’ve decided to go ahead with top ten book to movie adaptations I’m looking forward to! Are you ready? Let’s do this.

1. The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

After the big flop of the movie adaptation of City of Bones, The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare has been given another chance to win our hearts—this time as a TV show! You all know how excited I am for this. Technically this isn’t supposed to be on the list as we’re talking about book to *movie* adaptations, but oh well. Can’t wait for this!

Shadowhunters

2. Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

According to IMBD, this book-to-movie adaptation is set to be released December 25th 2016 in the U.S—for which I’m super excited! It’s definitely far away, but it’s exciting to know this amazing book will be turned into a movie. Can’t wait!

MissPeregrine'sHomeforPeculiarChildren_bookcover

3. The Fifth Wave by Rick Yancey

Set to be released sometime in January 2016 if I’m not mistaken, The Fifth Wave stars Chloe Grace Moretz (If I Stay) and is definitely something I’m looking forward to! I enjoyed the book and I’m hoping this turns out good too. Check out the trailer here if you haven’t already!

The 5th Wave

4. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen/Seth Grahame-Smith

I haven’t read the book for this one, but I’m definitely intrigued by the trailer of this! Putting a twist on the classic tale of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, this one seems unique for sure. Trailer found here if you want to see it!

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

5. Allegiant by Veronica Roth

The first part of Allegiant is set to be released this coming March 2016, and I’m hoping it will turn out to be good! A teaser trailer for this was released if you want to check it out.

Allegiant Movie Poster 2

6. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

I can’t wait to see how this emotional story will be translated onto the big screen! I loved this book so much. Set for March 18, 2016, Me Before You stars Sam Claflin and Emilia Clarke in the leading roles, and I’m super excited! I just know this is going to be a movie to keep your eyes on.

Me Before You

7. A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness

Supposedly set for a release of October 14, 2016, A Monster Calls is quite far away, but I’m still really excited at the prospect of a movie for this! My only wish is that they don’t screw it up. I mean, the book isn’t that long, so I truly hope they won’t be cutting out any important bits! I loved this book.

A Monster Calls

8. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling

Another HP-verse movie! I know this is set before the events of the original HP movies, but I’m super excited all the same.

Fantastic Beasts

9. The BFG by Roald Dahl

Super excited for this as well! Ah, childhood favourites. There’s an older version of this already, and I’m intrigued to see how they’ll do this one!

The BFG

10. The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith

I actually had no idea this was going to be a movie! I haven’t read the book yet though, definitely planning on changing that soon! Apparently this will be including Hailee Steinfeld and Robert Sheehan in the leading roles. I’m intrigued!

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight

Honorable mention: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 —Aren’t we all excited for this one?!

So there we have it! Book to Movie adaptations I’m excited for. These are basically all set for early or late 2016, *sniffle* but on the bright side at least they’re in the making and aren’t too far away! I’m hoping with all my heart none of these are stopped being produced!

What movies on here are you looking forward to? What other book-to-movie adaptations (that aren’t on this list) are you excited for? Let me know in the comments!

Top Ten Tuesday #26 (October 27th) | Halloween Freebie: Top 10 Creepy Covers

It’s Tuesday once again, and that means it’s time for a Top Ten Tuesday, a meme from the wonderful bloggers over at The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is a Halloween freebie:

Halloween themed freebie — your choice (ie. 10 best ghost stories, 10 things that scare you in books, 10 literary Halloween costumes, 10 vampire novels, 10 books that WILL scare you, 10 non-scary books for Halloween, 10 scariest covers, etc.)

I’ve decided to go with top 10 creepy covers! There are so many of them out there, I decided to spotlight a few and make a list out of it. I haven’t read any of these, by the way, so I’m not going to be going into much detail about why I chose the covers… not that I should need much explaining, if the covers are doing their job! (Also, I’m warning you. Some of these are pretty creepy, so if you do somehow get freaked out, please don’t come and murder me out of revenge? I’m only half-joking. :P) Let’s get on with it, shall we?

1. Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake

Anna Dressed in Blood
Has a very creepy look to it for sure!

2. Asylum by Madeleine Roux

Asylum
Although this doesn’t have me quivering in fear, still a very creepy cover!

3. The Fury by Alexander Gordon Smith

The Fury
Oh boy. Getting the chills already!

4. Ashes by Ilsa J. Bick

Ashes
I don’t even want to imagine how I’d feel having this book laying around somewhere… #notsafe

5. Engines of the Broken World by Jason Vanhee

Engines of the Broken World
This isn’t going to end well, I just know it.

6. The Suffering by Rin Chupeco

The Suffering
A very dark, mysterious feel to this one!

7. The Possession of Cassie Quinn by Kathryn Knutson

The Possession of Cassie Quinn
Getting the chills again…

8. Dead City by Joe McKinney

Dead City
Yep, this is one zombie book I’m definitely not picking up. Not that I have many zombie books on my TBR in the first place, but you know what I mean.

9. Shutter by Courtney Alameda

Shutter
This is more of a different kind of creepy than the other ones I’ve named above, I’d say, but definitely isn’t a comforting cover, to say the least.

10. I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga

I Hunt Killers
Not as creepy as some of the other books on here, but still pretty creepy!

So there we have it! I think I’m kind of reconsidering this whole theme because some of these covers are majorly creepy… I may have a tolerance for horror at times, but let’s just say I’m going to be staying away from a lot of these books.

So anyway. I managed to make this list without completely flinching and hiding away in terror, so tell me;

What do you think of these covers? Which ones could you handle? Which ones made you cower away? What topic did you choose for this week’s TTT? (Feel free to link it if you want!)

Let me know whatever thoughts you may have down below, I’d love to know what you think! And while we’re at it…

BOO!

(Predictable, I know, but you know I had to!)

Enjoy your day! ❤

Top Ten Tuesday #25 (October 20th): Top 10 Wishes I’d Ask the Book Genie to Grant Me

♪It’s Tuesday, Tuesday… Nope, doesn’t have the same ring to it. 😉 But anyway! Hello bookworms! It is indeed Tuesday, which means it’s time, of course, for a Top Ten Tuesday, a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is :

10 Wishes I’d Ask The Book Genie To Grant Me (a new book from a certain author,  a reading superpower, a library that is your absolutely #librarygoals, a character to come to life, to met a certain author etc. etc.) YOU DREAM IT AND THE BOOKISH GENIE CAN DO IT.

There are so many I can name for this! So are you ready? Let’s do this.

1. Own any book that I want for free.

This is a given, right? The wallet always suffers from buying books, which of course puts limitations on the books I buy, no matter what sale is going on! So it would be a dream come true if I could own any book I want, the moment I wish for it, for free. Every bookworm’s dream! ❤

Basically me about all the books…

2. Have a huge personal library in my house filled with said books.

Ahhhh, imagine, a huge, cozy library with reading chairs, and of course, a nice bed so I can read comfortably, day or night, with bookshelves surrounding me, which all hold my precious books… Oh! And also a fridge and some snacks in case I get hungry. After all, I really doubt that after entering this awesome library, I’d want to ever leave! XD

Beast Library
This seems like a pretty good image to start on! 😉 Just needs some extra Analee-themed finishes and that’s my new room! Get on it, Book Genie!

3. Give me the power to keep all books looking good as new.

You know those books you’ve had for a long time (paperbacks especially) that are simply in horrible condition, with broken spines, stained pages, and the horror you feel whenever you look at them? Yeah, that’s what this wish is for! Imagine if all your books—paperbacks included—were always in pristine condition, even after any damages it may have gotten? Ahhhh how amazing!

4. Make reading books a world-wide career for any bookworm (me included!)

Dream come true, right here! (Well one of my infinite dreams, of course.) This would honestly be the best job in the world (although maybe being a published author might come close). My life would be complete heaven, money-wise! Not to mention I’d definitely enjoy getting up for work in the morning!

5. Be transported into any book that I want, whenever I want.

Ooh, just imagine how amazing it would be if I could be inside a story, being whichever character I want, whenever I want?! Not only would that be incredibly epic, at least now I can kind of get some insight on why some characters are utter idiots…

6. Get my favourite characters to come to life.

..To get together for a Bad Blood music video replica!! Nah, I’m kidding for that one. But it would be so incredibly amazing if my favourite characters came to life!! That, of course includes book boyfriends—though I think I might collapse from excitement at that point—or even combust…

7. Have more time to read!!

There’s hardly ever time to read now, so yes, this wish must be granted!! I don’t care, stop time if you have to, Book Genie. That would be great, thanks!

8. Have unpublished sequels of books immediately after I finish the first book!

You have no idea how torturous it is having to wait for the next book in a series!! Or maybe you do, ’cause I know I’m not alone here! Aghhh I drive myself crazy just thinking about it. It would be so fantastic if I could have the sequels of books immediately after I finished the first book. Sorry authors, chop chop! Better write faster.

9. Meet a bunch of my favourite authors.

Although I’d probably have a seizure from too much excitement, this would be so cool! I doubt I’d know what to say either, but you know. I’ll attempt not to make a complete fool of myself! 😉

10. To have series covers match (and not change half-way).

It can be so annoying when book covers in the same series don’t match—or if the covers all change mid-way through a series. Like, no!! Now I have to buy the books again. Of course, when my Book Genie grants Wish #1 for me, money won’t be an issue, but still. Just make it easy on us, publishers/authors/cover designers. Please!!

So, Book Genie, this is my offering to you! I have given you my wishes, now simply grant them for me, please and thank you! ❤

And you, fellow readers! Tell me, what do you think of these wishes? Any of them a waste, in your opinion? What wishes would you wish to be granted? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to know! Love you all, I hope you all enjoy your day!

Until the Next Meal, Analee
