Hello everyone! I’m back with another tag today, the Around the World in YA Book Tag, which was created by a fellow blogger, Becca from Becca and Books. I was tagged by Raven @ Dreamy Addictions and although I’m VERY late on this, better late than never, right? Thank you so much, Raven!
Alright, so the rules are simple. List a country, and then show which favourite book of yours is set in that country. You can use the countries I have used, add your own, or use completely different ones! (*I’m also going to be tweaking the rules a bit and use books on my TBR as well, not only books I’ve read*)
Sounds like fun! Let’s see how I do, shall we? 🙂 Covers link to Goodreads!
This is a book that’s on my TBR—and no, this time I’m not going with Anna and the French Kiss as per usual. 😉 I feel as if I’ve used that book well more than enough and you’re all probably getting frustrated with me for not having read it yet. LOL. But I digress. I’m going to go with Romancing the Dark in the City of Light, which is set in Paris! It’s on my TBR and I can’t wait to read it.
This is a book I haven’t read either, but I definitely plan to! Set in a past era of Germany, The Book of Thief seems to be a common topic of discussion and I want to join in. 😉
I was debating to choose between TDI and Harry Potter, and as you can see, The Infernal Devices has won out! I love this series so much. ❤ (Although HP is amazing as well, don’t get me wrong!)
I’m going to go with the common answer I’ve seen for this; Cinder by Marissa Meyer! I love this book and series so much! The book that started everything, Cinder was an amazing read. And it’s set in a futuristic New Beijing, so it’s a good fit. (*Wink* See what I did there? Cinder—Cinderella… shoe…you figure out the rest.)
Although the Tiger’s Curse series isn’t constantly set in India, a lot of it is, and the whole series is based on Indian mythology so I’m counting it for this one!
Okay, so I’m stretching the rules quite a bit for this one considering how it’s not actually set in true Russia. Shadow and Bone and The Grisha trilogy are set in a Russian-influenced fantasy world, so I guess technically this wouldn’t count as a book set in Russia… but I’m using it anyway! #Ijustwannabreaktherules
I’m actually following the rules for this one… kind of. I haven’t read this book yet, but I have definitely been planning to for quite some time! (Though you know that if you’ve seen several of my WWW posts lately, lol.) I hope I get to Ink and Bone soon!
One of the few novels set in Canada, Anne of Green Gables is my choice for this one! It’s kind of sad and disappointing how few novels are set in Canada. It’s almost always the U.S, or some other foreign country. Oh well. At least there is this classic novel to have Canada remembered in our books! 😉
So those are my choices! Feel free to tell me what you think in the comments! Now, it’s your turn. If you want to do this tag, go for it—I’ll add your name to the post if you tell me below—but I’m going to tag a few people to start off:
- Alex @ Alex the Shadowgirl
- Ali @ I Wuv Books
- Amy @ Book Enthral
- Ashley @ Socially Awkward Bookworm
- Ayunda @ Tea & Paperbacks
- Deanna @ A Novel Glimpse
- Giovanna @ Book Coma
- Joan @ Fiddler Blue
- Kat @ Life and Other Disasters
- Makayla @ Random Reads
- Maria @ Marwhal Reads
- Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books
- Michelle @ Book Adventures
- Molly @ Night Owl’s Library
- Sara @ Freadom Library
- The Orangutan Librarian
I would tag a bunch of other people if I could, but unfortunately I’m running late on time and have to leave or I’ll miss the bus! So please, tell me, if you want to do this tag, or if you don’t want to, no problem! If you’ve already done the tag, I apologize in advance!
Happy tagging! Hugs!
This seems like such a fun tag! Love all your answers.

YAY! Thanks for tagging me! I am not sure I ever read books that were set in all the countries you’ve mentioned, but who knows what I can come up with?
By the way, I really want to read Romancing the Dark in the City of Light as well!!!

Haha, it's no biggie if you do! There's (sadly) not that many books that we can easily think of set in Paris.
