I Can’t Wait For These Book to Movie Adaptations!! | Top Ten Tuesday #28 (November 10th)

Hello everyone and welcome back to another Top Ten Tuesday, a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish! This week’s topic is:

Top Ten Book To Movie Adaptations I’m Looking Forward To or Ten Book To Movie Adaptations I Still Need To Watch

I feel like I’ve done this kind of topic before, but I’ve decided to go ahead with top ten book to movie adaptations I’m looking forward to! Are you ready? Let’s do this.

1. The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

After the big flop of the movie adaptation of City of Bones, The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare has been given another chance to win our hearts—this time as a TV show! You all know how excited I am for this. Technically this isn’t supposed to be on the list as we’re talking about book to *movie* adaptations, but oh well. Can’t wait for this!

Shadowhunters

2. Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

According to IMBD, this book-to-movie adaptation is set to be released December 25th 2016 in the U.S—for which I’m super excited! It’s definitely far away, but it’s exciting to know this amazing book will be turned into a movie. Can’t wait!

3. The Fifth Wave by Rick Yancey

Set to be released sometime in January 2016 if I’m not mistaken, The Fifth Wave stars Chloe Grace Moretz (If I Stay) and is definitely something I’m looking forward to! I enjoyed the book and I’m hoping this turns out good too. Check out the trailer here if you haven’t already!

The 5th Wave

4. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen/Seth Grahame-Smith

I haven’t read the book for this one, but I’m definitely intrigued by the trailer of this! Putting a twist on the classic tale of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, this one seems unique for sure. Trailer found here if you want to see it!

5. Allegiant by Veronica Roth

The first part of Allegiant is set to be released this coming March 2016, and I’m hoping it will turn out to be good! A teaser trailer for this was released if you want to check it out.

6. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

I can’t wait to see how this emotional story will be translated onto the big screen! I loved this book so much. Set for March 18, 2016, Me Before You stars Sam Claflin and Emilia Clarke in the leading roles, and I’m super excited! I just know this is going to be a movie to keep your eyes on.

7. A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness

Supposedly set for a release of October 14, 2016, A Monster Calls is quite far away, but I’m still really excited at the prospect of a movie for this! My only wish is that they don’t screw it up. I mean, the book isn’t that long, so I truly hope they won’t be cutting out any important bits! I loved this book.

8. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling

Another HP-verse movie! I know this is set before the events of the original HP movies, but I’m super excited all the same.

Fantastic Beasts

9. The BFG by Roald Dahl

Super excited for this as well! Ah, childhood favourites. There’s an older version of this already, and I’m intrigued to see how they’ll do this one!

10. The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith

I actually had no idea this was going to be a movie! I haven’t read the book yet though, definitely planning on changing that soon! Apparently this will be including Hailee Steinfeld and Robert Sheehan in the leading roles. I’m intrigued!

Honorable mention: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 —Aren’t we all excited for this one?!

So there we have it! Book to Movie adaptations I’m excited for. These are basically all set for early or late 2016, *sniffle* but on the bright side at least they’re in the making and aren’t too far away! I’m hoping with all my heart none of these are stopped being produced!

What movies on here are you looking forward to? What other book-to-movie adaptations (that aren’t on this list) are you excited for? Let me know in the comments!

Until the Next Meal, Analee

    • Thank you, Marie! ❤ Glad I'm not alone in waiting for those movies, and yes, I really do hope they won't spoil the books! Though sadly the chances are slim, considering how most book-to-movie adaptations turn out! Happy that you liked The Statistical Probability, I can't wait to read it! 😀

  1. there are SO many good movies coming out it’s impossible to keep track of them. I agree about The Mortal Instruments, I didn’t like City of Bones so I’m happy it’s going to have a TV series! Now I just need to read the books before it begins XD

    • I know right?! There are book-to-movie adaptations left and right everywhere. 😉 Yes, I definitely hope the tv show turns out to be good! It would be a shame if it became another disappointment. Haha same here. XD Though maybe it would be better if I didn’t so if they changed a lot of things in the show I won’t be as perceptive. LOL.
