Top Ten Tuesday #21 (September 8th): Top 10 Finished Series I Have YET to Finish

It’s Tuesday, September 8th, and you all know what that means! (No, not the first day of school for Canadiens, although it’s that too, unfortunately.) It’s time for Top Ten Tuesday, a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is ‘Ten Finished Series I Have YET to Finish‘, which is actually quite hard for me because when I start a series, I always try to finish it (unless there are unpublished books left in the series, obviously). But of course, there are some series I haven’t finished yet, so…Here they are, in no particular order:

1. Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard

I stopped at the fifth book if I’m not mistaken, and really, I’m not compelled to continue the series. It’s simply too long for me right now, considering there are so many other books I want to get to, and I don’t want to waste my time on this. I definitely enjoy the TV show more!

2. Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson

I finished the first book last week—which I absolutely loved, by the way—so obviously, I have not yet finished this series. I do want to, however. Although I’m not sure when I’ll have the time to fit the series in, I’m definitely going to be finishing this series.

3. The Missing series by Maragaret Peterson Haddix

This is a series I first read a couple years back, and I remember enjoying it. At that time, the series had been unfinished, with 2 or 3 books left in the series, I believe, and after waiting around for the books for a while, I kind of just gave up and thought, ‘I’ll just get back to them later.’ Yeah, that didn’t exactly happen since I met so many other awesome books along the way and got sidetracked. 😉 The 8th and final book of the series releases today, actually, according to Goodreads. I literally just found out, haha.

4. The Giver Quartet by Lois Lowry

I loved The Giver, and I really have been planning to finish the quartet! I really did! I read the first two books, but I didn’t continue. No specific reason, really. I just… didn’t. BUT I will. I will finish it one day.

5. The 39 Clues series by Various Authors

I know this was pretty popular in the more younger years among lots of people, and although I found the books to be pretty intriguing, I just didn’t finish it. Again, no specific reason for why I didn’t finish the series, but I guess part of it had to do with disinterest? Not that it’s a bad series by any means, just that I started the series at a later age and with all the other books I was interested in, I didn’t have the time or commitment for this one anymore. And, frankly, I don’t think I’ll be finishing this series… anytime soon, at least!

6. Burn For Burn series by Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian

I just recently read the first book in this series, so I have yet to finish the series. I’m not quite sure when I’ll pick up the next book, but I do plan on finishing the series!

So that’s it for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday! I know I’m probably missing some, but these are the ones I remember specifically not finishing. Also, I’m on a hurry because today is the first day of school for me, so these are the ones I quickly came up with.

So, tell me: What finished series have you not finished? Let me know in the comments below, or if you have a Top Ten Tuesday post, link your post! I’d love to hear from you.

Happy Tuesday!

  1. Ohhh so The Giver’s a series too?! I watched the movie and I thought it’s already over! Is Burn for Burn as lovely as Jenny Han’s other novels? I’m a bit hesitant bc it’s a collaboration with another author :/

    • Thanks! Yeah, that series is just too long, and unnecessarily so at that. Glad to see we have it in common. 😉
Yes, I’m sure I’ll get around to them sometime! Hopefully I’ll read them before the end of 2015, but I’m not yet sure. I can’t wait to see what they’re like though! ❤

  2. OMG, honestly you have to make time for Mistborn and The Giver! The Mistborn Trilogy is just amazing, I think it is one that keeps getting better the more and more you read it. Finishing The Giver Quartet will be rewarding because Lowry does a great job in neatly wrapping up the entire story and it gives you that satisfied feeling at the end you always hope for in a book. Great list!

    • I’m so happy to hear that! The Final Empire was amazing, I can only imagine how the next books might be! I will definitely try to get them in sometime. I will definitely be picking up the rest of The Giver Quartet as well; I’m glad to hear that it has a satisfying ending!
      Thank you! ❤

  3. Ahh the pretty little liars books. You got further than I did. I stopped at the 3rd book and I don’t think I’ll pick them back up. It was okay, but I prefer the show. I love the show!
I recently got Burn for Burn on my ereader, so I can’t wait to read that one.

  4. The Giver is also a series I’ve started but never finished, which is a shame because I think it ended on a rather bleak note? I have way too many series I have not finished, way longer than 10, so I got scared off making this list, haha.

  5. It’s pretty awesome that your list is pretty short this week! I actually haven’t started any of these series yet, but I do have all these on my TBR-well except Pretty Little Liars. I’m a little wary of that one because of the drama, haha.
