Hello fellow bookworms! Have you guessed it yet? ‘Tis time for another Teaser Tuesday! This meme is hosted by A Daily Rhythm. All you have to do to join in is:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) (I’m doing one) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Today I have a teaser from Yes, Please by Amy Poehler (Around 30%):
At thirty I felt like I had about six or seven years of feeling like a real adult before my brain and society started to make me worry about being old. There is the built-in baby stuff, plus the added fascination with the new. But here’s the thing. Getting older is awesome, and not because you don’t care as much about what people think. It’s awesome because you develop secret superpowers.
–Yes, Please by Amy Poehler
What do you think of this teaser? Have you read this book? Did you like it? Feel free to let me know in the comments below!
Have a great Tuesday!
I’m half way through at the moment – this section about getting older is funny 🙂

I finished it last night! Overall, I enjoyed it. But it’s quite uneven. I’m trying to think how best to review it…

I have had this one on my radar for a while now but I’m still not sure if I want to read it… I’ve read various times the book isn’t that fun if you don’t know Amy Poehler. I really like the sound of your teaser though! Makes me wonder if I should give Yes, Please I try anyway.

Yes, I was like that too before I picked this up. Really, one of the only reasons I’m reading this is because it’s for my Popsugar challenge.. I mean, I’ve had this on my TBR and I’m sure I would’ve read this anyway even without the Popsugar factor, but this isn’t really my kind of thing, you know? Especially after my experience with Bossypants. 😉 I am liking this though, I guess. Although it’s kind of a case-to-case thing if you ask me.

I’m glad that you’re enjoying this one; I guess it’s a genre where it depends more than ever on the writer’s prose if you like it or not. I will probably try Yes Please at some point if I can get a cheap copy… For now I have like a million other books I still have to read haha.

It’s alright, I guess, but I would say one should be open to non-fiction books and acquainted a bit with Amy Poehler’s sense of humour. I’m not a big fan of non fiction I’ll admit, but this is alright. 🙂 Thanks for the link, I’ll definitely check it out! ❤

That’s great! My past experience with a celebrity writing a nonfiction book hasn’t been that good, so I really hope I enjoy this! ❤
