Book News | ‘Shadowhunters’ TV Show Casting Updates

Hi there! It’s been a while since I did a casting update for the ‘Shadowhunters’ TV Show, so today I decided to post an update on all the additions to the cast, which are more of recurring and minor characters than main characters.

So, we now have:

David Castro as Raphael

Jade Hassouné as Meliorn

Kaitlyn Leeb as Camille

Lisa Marcos as Captain Vargas

Curtis Morgan as Pangborn

Jordan Hudyma as Blackwell

Joel Labelle as Alaric

Vanessa Matsui as Dot

Sofia Wells as Young Clary

Mouna Traoré as Midori

All joining the cast of:

Dominic Sherwood as Jace

Alberto Rosende as Simon

Emeraude Toubia as Isabelle

Katherine McNamara as Clary

Matthew Daddario as Alec

Isaiah Mustafa as Luke

Harry Shum Jr. as Magnus

Alan Van Sprang as Valentine

Maxim Roy as Jocelyn

Jon Cor as Hodge Starkweather

Quite a lot of cast members! I think I’m mostly good with all the new castings, and while they’re important characters, I suppose my opinion on them can be easily swayed as they’re recurring characters and even if I don’t like them, I won’t be seeing much of them (for most of these castings anyway).

However, I am wary of Lisa Marcos’s casting as Captain Vargas and Mouna Traoré as Midori, not because of the actors themselves, more of their castings. Captain Vargas and Midori aren’t characters from the book, so I’m quite hesitant when it comes to them.

Also, Dorothea is being aged down, and is given the name Dot, and apparently she isn’t going to have the same role as in the books. Wonder what that will be like…
