Hey there! This review’s on Fracture Me, if you haven’t realized. 😛 I didn’t enjoy this as much as the other books (Why? *cough* Adam *cough*) but it was still a good read. (Previously reviewed of the series: Shatter Me, Destroy Me & Unravel Me)

So Fracture Me is in the POV of Adam, Juliette’s first love interest, and is set in one of the scenes of Unravel Me, near the end of the story, the reason for which I’m not going to be writing a quick summary this time.

My Review

The only real good part of the plot is that is allows readers find out what happens to the other characters in the final scene of Unravel Me, which was not included in the original book.

As the book takes place in basically the most crucial part of Unravel Me, when Omega Point is about to fight back, in normal circumstances I would’ve loved to have a different POV because of the different perspective. That was not the case for this book, as I seriously detested Adam. His actions, his thoughts all detracted from what could’ve been a nice re-hashing of a fast-paced fight scene and interesting story. However, I will say the storyline was useful in strengthening my love for other characters (namely Kenji & James) and, like I mentioned earlier, providing an exclusive bit of insight into what happens to the other characters.

As for where characters are concerned, I loved all the characters except for Adam, to be completely honest, especially Kenji & James. My blood just boils thinking of Adam. He claims he loves Juliette, but no way does he deserve her at all. According to him, Juliette is a frail, weak, girl who needs to be protected. But now, just as she’s stepping outside her box, and becoming the kick-butt person she is, he puts her down. How much more of a jerk do you have to be for that? If anyone has a brick at hand, please hand it over.

His one commendable feature would be his love for James, but even that love could be contradicted in the way he spoke and talked to James. I swear, if you gave me a dollar for each time Adam pulled a jerk move, I’d be swimming in millions of dollars right now.

As always, Tahereh Mafi’s writing style is amazing, and I flew through the book in no time. It was poetic, without it being like Juliette’s POV. In no way was it like Juliette. After all, Adam is as far from Juliette as you can get.

Overall…

Fracture Me is a good addition to the series. I know my review makes it seem like I didn’t enjoy it, but really, my issue was with Adam, not the whole book (although they’re kind of the same thing in this case, as we’re stuck with Adam the whole story, but whatever). If you’re reading the Shatter Me series, or planning to, then I guess I would suggest reading this if you want to know the outcome for the other characters, or simply just so you can open your eyes to the reality of who Adam really is. (If you’re Team Adam, especially.)
